Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy is currently Dean, Accounting and Auditing Faculty, at the University of Economics and Business of the Vietnam National University. Prior to this position, she was Vice Head of the Auditing Department; Lecturer in the School of Accounting and Auditing at the National Economics University; and Head of the Internal Control and Risk Management in Bank Project at the International Academy of Governance and Finance. She has consulted in internal auditing and is a financial advisor to NAPAS Vietnam, Deoca Investment Company, Haithach group, Vietinbank, and the BIDV bank. She is also a trainer in the IFC (World Bank) programme on Corporate Governance.
Her research interests are in Green Accounting, Green Banking and Finance, Internal Auditing, Corporate Governance, and Financial Analysis. She has been awarded numerous research grants by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam for State- level projects in Green finance in Vietnam; Transfer pricing in Vietnam: The development of the debt trading market of enterprises and financial institutions; and the Modelling of financial group supervision schemes. She has also been awarded research grants by the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam, to study the Factors affecting the financial fraud of listed companies in the stock market of Vietnam.
Dr. Thuy has numerous publications of articles in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, including in journals such as the Journal of Economics and Business and the Journal of Economics and Development. Her published text books and chapters include publications in the areas of Financial Analysis, Financial Auditing, Internal Auditing and Auditing.
Dr. Thuy has a PhD in Accounting and Auditing from the National Economics University, Vietnam; an MBA (International Accounting) from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia; and a B.A (Accounting and Auditing) from the National Economics University, Vietnam. She is professionally certified as a Certified Management Accountant (Australia).
