Mr. Jeffrey C. Lim is the President of SM Prime since October 2016. He is a member of the Company’s Executive Committee. He also serves as President of SM Development Corporation. He was elected to the Board of Directors of SM Prime in April 2016. He holds various board and executive positions in other SMPH’s subsidiaries.
SM Prime is one of the largest and leading integrated property developers in South East Asia with 79 malls, 63 residential developments, 11 office buildings and 6 hotels in its portfolio. The group provides employment to more than 12,000 people. In 2017, SM Prime was the first ever Philippine listed company to reach the One Trillion Pesos market capitalization mark, an indication of trust and confidence investors have in the company and its leadership.
Through SM Cares, the company arm that handles corporate social responsibility programs, SM Prime is a catalyst for positive change in Philippine society by giving voice to the under-represented sectors including persons with disabilities, the children and the youth, senior citizens, and women. The Company is an advocate for environmental stewardship and active supporter of United Nation’s International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development Goals.
Under the leadership of Mr. Lim as Company President, SM Prime has received citations of excellence from prestigious organizations including, ‘Asia’s Icon of Corporate Governance’ from Corporate Governance Asia, ‘Best Companies to Work in Asia 2019’, from HR Asia, ‘Platinum Award for Excellence in Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Investor Relations’ from The Asset, among others.
Prior to becoming the President of the Company, Mr Lim served as the company’s CFO and Executive Vice President, leading the overall strategic planning, finance, and treasury functions as well as Business Development, Investor Relations, and Information Technology. He played a key role in the expansion of SM Malls from 4 in 1994, the year he joined the company, to 72 malls in the Philippines, and 7 in China at present. Prior to joining the Company in 1994, he worked for a multi-national company and for SGV & Co.
Mr. Lim finished his high school at the Zambonaga Chong Hua High School in 1977 and earned Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of the East in Manila. He is a Certified Public Accountant and also holds a Management Development Program Diploma from Asian Institute of Management.
